Since 2015, three new eye-catching murals have appeared on the walls of several Western Avenue businesses. Thanks to a Google sponsorship, a new set of Oklahoma City artists came together to create 2015’s installment of the Taste of Western mural project. This “Wilderness on Western” mural in Oklahoma City tells the story of Oklahoma wildlife’s diversity and fragility. Local artists Nick Bayer, James Clark and Sam Douglas painted the walls of Diane Lee on Western Avenue to highlight some of Oklahoma’s endangered species. In “Wilderness on Western,” several Oklahoma animals pop out via relief techniques the artists devised with foam.
