Native American New Play Festival
Celebrate Native American writing and performance during the annual Native American New Play Festival. The festival presents new Native work to Oklahoma audiences during two weekends filled with full production performances as well as staged readings of new Native plays selected from a national call for scripts.
Don't miss your chance to see "Neechie-Itas" by Jo MacDonald (Anishinaabe) at UCO Mitchell Hall Theater during the festival. This fresh comedy follows four women who start out for a night on the town and end up spending a night in jail in a case of mistaken identity - or was it?
The 2019 Native American New Play Festival will also feature readings of “Bound” by Tara Moses (Seminole Nation of Oklahoma) and “Three Sisters” by Carolyn Dunn (Cherokee/ Choctaw/Creek/Tunica-Biloxi) in the Black Box Theatre on the UCO campus.
