Take a guided tour of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge & Visitor's Center in the hopes of spotting a bugling elk during the height of the elk mating season. Bugling Elk Tour participants will meet their guide at the Lawton refuge's Visitor Center before loading up on the bus. During this special three-hour tour, visitors can look out for bull elks making high-pitched bugling sounds in bursts of aggression and frustration. Guests may also witness bison, white-tailed deer and wild turkey from their tour bus seats. To book a reservation on a September or October tour, call the Visitor Center. Reservations are limited and are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
