Celebrate Independence Day with family-friendly activities throughout Cherokee during the annual 4th of July Celebration. The fun begins Monday morning at Cherokee's City Park with a Main Street raffle, 2-on-2 basketball tournament, a tiny-tot competition and a flag presentation. Fuel up for the afternoon games with lunch available for purchase, such as pulled pork, baked beans, slaw, chips, watermelon, cookies, hot dogs and water. Compete in egg toss, sack races, the water balloon toss and various yard games, or opt for a train ride and a free swim at the Cherokee pool.

Head to the Alfalfa County Fairgrounds later that evening for the main event – homemade icecream, turtle races and a breathtaking fireworks display. This day filled with patriotic festivities in Northwest Oklahoma is one you won't want to miss.
