Johnston County War Memorial
The Johnston County War Memorial is a special place in Tishomingo that features a series of granite markers that honor those from Johnston County who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedom in many previous military engagements. Visitors will also notice a restored Blue Angel flight demonstration jet once flown by Navy Lt. Commander Clarence O. "Smokey" Tolbert, listed MIA in Vietnam in 1972. Across the street is a Howitzer M 110-8 8" self-propelled tank from the Korean-Vietnam era with a firing range of 19 miles. The War Memorial is breathtaking day or night.
