Kurt Vile and the Violaters in Concert
Head to the Jones Assembly in Oklahoma City for an evening of psych-pop as Kurt Vile and the Violators take the stage. Starting on the banjo at age 14, Kurt Vile began writing and recording music at just 17. The young writer’s music was heavily influenced by the raw slacker pop and experimental indie rock found on the Drag City Records catalog. In 2003, Vile began collaborating with Adam Granduciel which led to the formation of their duo, the War on Drugs. Parting ways in 2009, Vile has continued on a solo trek winning fans over, becoming a celebrated indie rock artists.
On his latest album, (watch my moves), Vile pulls his talents as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer in unexpected directions- and the result is a vibrant, yet meditative album propelled by Vile's laid-back charm and curious spirit. Be sure to show up early to this OKC show and catch opener Chastity Belt.
