Davis-Waldorf Performing Arts Series presents "Nobuntu." The world-renowned a cappella ensemble Nobuntu represents a new generation of young African women singers who celebrate and preserve their culture, beauty and heritage through art. The word Nobuntu is an African concept that values humbleness, love, unity and family from a woman’s perspective. The ensemble’s mission is to use music as a vehicle for change, one that transcends racial, tribal, religious, gender, and economic boundaries. Their performance at the The University of Science and Arts will feature folksongs from their native Zimbabwe, Afro Jazz, and Gospel, performed with traditional instruments and authentic dance.
