Norman Philharmonic presents: Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration
500 W Boyd St
Join the Norman Philharmonic for a special evening honoring the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., featuring music by James Oliverio. Gather in Catlett Music Center's Sharp Hall to be inspired by Oliverio's "Trumpet Concerto No. 1: World House, Drawn to Light." The inspiration for this concerto was King's idea of the "World House," our one common planet, the only place people of all races can either learn to live together or "perish as fools" (referenced in his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech in 1964).
This event also brings multiple speakers to the stage, including local ethnic diversity advocate George Henderson and Karlos K. Hill, associate professor of African and American Studies at the University of Oklahoma. Don't miss this enriching experience during this one-night event.
At door: $10 While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the pricing listed above, prices are subject to change without notice.
