Bass Reeves Memorial Celebration
220 Elgin St
The Bass Reeves Memorial Celebration grants guests the opportunity to recognize the life and legacy of the most recognized African-American U.S. Deputy Marshal in Indian Territory. Head to the Three Rivers Museum in Muskogee to hear from historical re-enactors bringing the stories of Winnie Reeves (Bass' second wife), Rufus Cannon (a sheriff friend of Bass), reporter Comby State and Bass Reeves himself to life. Attend the New Orleans-style procession, featuring musical instruments, singing and a march around the museum grounds. Stay until the end and take part in a small reception to close out the Bass Reeves Memorial Celebration in Muskogee.
