Old Ice House
Old Ice House is a full service restaurant and bar conveniently located in downtown Durant.
It has been a cool place since 1927, as the building was once home to the Crystal Ice Co., a true ice house. Icemen would delivery ice weekly to businesses and doorsteps that would turn drinks into magical icy cold beverages. The Crystal Ice Co. remained in business until the 1970s.
The exterior has since been painted an icy blue but many of the original features still remain today, including the structure and the gantry crane. The main dining area is multi-level because hundred of ice blocks were hoisted up and out. Old Ice House continues serving magical icy cold beverages. Now they just have a little more punch to them.
The Rocco-Rita is the signature frozen margarita at Old Ice House and named after resident penguin, Rocco. Guests can also enjoy other signature cocktails like the Frostbite, Icicle, 32 degree martini, and the Fire + Ice shot, which is served in an ice shot glass.
Some of the most popular dishes served at Old Ice House include the pork carnitas tacos, gouda truffle burger, The Cuban, kicken' quessadilla, Wings and the big peanut butter pie, which can be enjoyed before or after guests have taken their photo with the World's Largest Peanut, located on the same block as Old Ice House.
Live music happens bi-weekly, and there is often a party or two scheduled each week. Old Ice House is one of the few local restaurants that offers outdoor seating. And it's pet friendly. Old Ice House is the place to eat, drink and chill in Durant.
