Situated on two wooded acres filled with seasonal wildflowers, birds of all nature and wildlife, Wister Ridge Cottage is a charming four-bedroom, two-bath rose garden cottage with a gated entry for your peace of mind. The cabin sleeps up to 10 guests comfortably, and families traveling with babies can take advantage of a provided pack-n-play, high chair and baby gate.
Located near the entrance of Wister State Park, this is one of the best locations in Oklahoma for viewing both bald and golden eagles. Relax on the cottage balcony with your morning coffee or tea and watch these majestic birds play in the sky above you with provided binoculars. Cook a delicious meal in the fully-equipped kitchen and set the table for up to ten guests with beautiful colorful dinnerwares so each meal feels like a special occasion. Starters of Keurig coffees, Folgers ground coffee, hot cocoa, various teas, iced tea bags and bottled water is provided, as well as kitchen spices, cooking oils, sugar, flour, paper towels, charcoal and fluid and aluminum foils to help make your stay more enjoyable while visiting Wister Ridge Cottage. Fresh linens, towels, toiletries, detergents and fabric softeners with laundry facilities are also provided.
This beautiful private cottage is a peaceful haven to return to at the end of the day for an evening meal and relaxing on the wrap-around deck or beside the fire pit located just down the hill below the back of the house. Relax on the spacious deck or stroll the property's tiny nature trail where you may find gnomes or perhaps even fairies scavenging through the woods. The owners have created a whimsical path for kiddos to enjoy exploring. This mountainous, wooded view is simply magical to the heart and senses, bringing a refreshing calm to the spirit.
Only a hop, skip and jump away from Wister Lake, you will enjoy the quiet lifestyle this jewel of a lake offers to its visitors. If you love adventure, take your getaway to the next level with the numerous outdoor amenities this area has to offer at nearby state parks. Fishing docks, boat ramps, disc golf, swimming, putt-putt golf, water sports and miles of nature, hiking and bike trails are available in the area. The Talimena Scenic Drive offers beautiful views year-round, though it is especially radiant during the spring and fall seasons. From Winding Stair Mountain National Recreation Area in Muse and Heavener Runestone Park where Vikings once explored to the world's largest hill, Cavanal Hill in Poteau and Robber's Cave State Park in Wilburton, there is plenty to see and do within an hour drive from the cottage.
