Comecos Cemetery
Located in the southwest Oklahoma town of Granite, the Comecos Cemetery is a fun roadside attraction featuring authentic headstones with silly sayings. A small turn-off from the main road leads visitors to this faux cemetery that displays a large Will Rogers sign saying "Giants of the Great Plains." More than 15 headstones are located within the fenced cemetery. Some of the engravings read chuckle-worthy lines like "I Told You I Was Sick" and "So Live That You Wouldn't Be Ashamed to Sell the Family Parrot to the Town Gossip."
The fake cemetery was created by Dan and Eleanor Roberts, who moved the stones from their original home and veterinary clinic in Wichita Falls, Texas, to their current location in Granite in 2006.
