Smithsonian Institution presents: Crossroads - Change in Rural America
Add the Smithsonian Institution's traveling exhibit "Crossroads: Change in Rural America" to your must-see list this May and June. Presented at the Boley Community Center, this collaboration between the Smithsonian and Oklahoma Humanities will feature discussions centered around the crossroads of rural towns.
Topics will include "Rural Identity" by Henrietta Hicks, "Community" during Screen on the Green showings at the Community Garden, "Land" by Sache Primeeaux-Shaw/BWB, "Perseverance" by Vanessa Adams Harris and "Managing Change" by Senator George Young. Coinciding with the exhibit are the opening ceremony, a parade, the annual Boley rodeo, a gospel concert and the 13 Historic Black Towns Festival. Come consider your own crossroads story and learn how small towns continue to focus on new opportunities for economic growth and development at these educational events.
