Adventure awaits at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden, one of Oklahoma’s top attractions. Stretched across 120 acres and featuring habitats and wildlife from all over the globe, the zoo offers guests the chance to connect with wildlife up-close through interactive exhibits and chats with the zoo’s animal experts.

Learn more about your favorite species during a unique animal encounter or with a walk through one of the many habitat areas. From Sumatran tigers to banded iguanas, over 500 species reside in the zoo’s many exhibits. Eight distinct habitat areas offer information about and encounters with animals from all over the world. Feed an Indian rhino, learn about Asian elephants during a caretaker presentation or let a lorikeet land on your shoulder when you visit the Oklahoma City Zoo.

Expedition Africa, the zoo’s newest, twelve-acre habitat, is filled with native African animals from towering giraffes to the tiny dwarf mongoose. Watch wildebeests, antelopes and zebras roam the outdoor enclosures or visit the indoor exhibits to see rodents like mole rats. Guests can even feed giraffes year-round with a trip to the giraffe barn, which features a raised platform so you can meet the tall mammal eye-to-eye.

Meet big cats up-close at the Cat Forest, home to felines of all species and sizes from the ocelots of South America to the caracal of the Middle East. Jaguars and tigers stalk through the bamboo of the jungle-like habitats and clouded leopards and ocelots can be spotted through the trees. The nearby Lion Overlook is home to a pride of lions that can be watched playing in their hillside habitat through a large glass barrier.

Over sixty species of reptiles and amphibians live in the enclosures of the Herpetarium and Wetlands Walkway. Snakes, turtles and frogs from the Emerald Tree Boa to colorful poison dart frogs can be spotted among the indoor exhibits. Step outside to see several species of turtles in a naturalistic habitat in the Wetlands Walkway.

The Oklahoma Trails portion of the zoo gives visitors the opportunity to learn more about the diverse range of animals that call the state home. Foxes, coyotes and bears can be seen among the eleven distinct exhibits that mimic Oklahoma’s many ecosystems. See grizzly and black bears roaming the outdoor enclosures or head into the Nocturnal Barn to see owls, bats and rodents that usually only come out at night.

The Great EscApe habitat is one of the world’s premier primate facilities with three acres of lush rainforest enclosures. Watch Sumatran orangutans, lowland gorillas and chimpanzees play among the hills while you learn more about each primate species from several informational displays.

Learn about the several diverse species that call Asia home at the Sanctuary Asia section of the zoo. Indian rhinos, Komodo dragons and red pandas are only a few of the animals that can be found in the habitat, in addition to the herd of elephants that wander the Elephant Pavilion. During your visit, stop by the Lotus Pavilion for a snack before visiting the Indian rhinos or the remarkable cassowary.

Don't miss out on the unique, hands-on exhibits found at the Children's Zoo. Visitors of all ages will love feeding colorful birds like lorikeets and flamingos or meeting the several barnyard animals found at the petting zoo like goats and sheep.

Strollers, wagons, wheelchairs and scooters are available to rent in the entrance plaza to offer ease of access for all guests. The Oklahoma City Zoo & Botanical Garden is fully accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the American Association of Museums.
