Shorty Small's is short on name but big on steaks, ribs, brisket, burgers, nachos, chicken, salads and anything else you might have a "hankerin'" for. The story goes that Shorty Small was born in 1934 and grew to be a whole five feet, two inches tall. After his father's death at 104, Shorty inherited the family saloon and kept it going ever since. The slapstick humor continues through the menu and even to the decor, which includes bicycles hanging from the ceiling. After you've had a good laugh at the menu, place your order. The portions are huge so bring a big appetite for lunch or dinner.
Some of Shorty Small's local favorites include mozzarella sticks, which are made on-site. These huge sticks come fried to a perfect golden brown and served with a side of marinara. Popular entrees include the pulled pork sandwich, Shorty's original world famous ribs, chicken fried steak and Shorty's sirloin. Side items include piled high fried okra, sweet 'tator fries, coleslaw and french fries.
