Stone Lion Inn Bed & Breakfast
Guthrie's historic Stone Lion Inn Bed and Breakfast is a stately 1907 Victorian mansion that has been restored to its grandeur and converted into a luxurious place to stay. With an elegant interior, Stone Lion Inn offers six guest rooms, each beautifully decorated in a different theme. Private baths are offered for each room, some featuring antique claw-footed bathtubs. Sitting rooms adjoin some of the rooms, allowing guests to relax and visit with each other as they would at home. The Stone Lion Inn also features a library where guests can escape to a quiet place and find a good book. Enjoy a full gourmet breakfast in the dining room each morning, and snacks, drinks and coffee are always available.
Travel back in time to be part of a murder mystery at the Stone Lion Inn. Murder mysteries are held Friday and Saturday nights with 20 to 40 people. Those who participate in the murder mystery will receive a packet ahead of time to prepare them for the part they will play and give them pointers on what to wear. A seven-course meal is included in the murder mystery package, and reservations can be made to stay at the Stone Lion Inn after the event.
Rumored to be haunted, the Stone Lion Inn Bed and Breakfast has been investigated by multiple paranormal teams. There are stories of a little girl being heard within the house when there is no one there; it is thought to be the daughter of the home's original owner, F.E. Houghton. She died by accidental poisoning at a very young age. A man in Victorian dress wearing a top hat has also been reported in the home that is thought to be F.E. Houghton himself. The Stone Lion Inn also served as a funeral home for many years before being converted into a bed and breakfast, adding to the speculation that it just might be haunted.
