“Back to Cool” Discounts and Cool Summer Fun Continues at Tulsa Zoo
By Tourism Industry Partner
TULSA, OK, August 11, 2011 – Everyone's a kid at the Tulsa Zoo starting this weekend with "Back to Cool" prices. All kids, and even "big kids," get in for 4 bucks this August 13 through the 21st from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Big Chill continues at the zoo with icy treats for the animals, water slides for the humans, and even a chance of snow around the zoo. It’s the perfect time for that last summertime fun activity that will spoil your inner-child without breaking the bank. And hey, we bet your kids will have a great time, too!
The early bird catches the worm, but at the Tulsa Zoo early birds can catch a ‘wave’ every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through August with awesome inflatable water slides! Starting at 8:00 a.m. you can check out the “Penguin Plunge” or the “Otter Slide” FREE with admission. And for all those early birds, the Tulsa Zoo opens its gates at 7:00 a.m daily and offers HALF-PRICE ADMISSION from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. through August.
Don’t forget to come on “UP” and meet our 17-foot-tall male giraffe, Sam and say howdy to the lovely ladies, Lexi and Pilli at the Tulsa Zoo’s new Mary K. Chapman Giraffe Experience! Guests can get a ‘view from the top’ and have a close encounter with the long and lanky kind. Learn all about their fascinating features during Keeper Chats as the giraffes eat their favorite treats. This one-of-a-kind experience is open to all zoo guests all day, with Keeper Chats scheduled at 11:00 a.m.
Also catch icy enrichment like for our cool creatures, like polar bananas for the chimps, ratsicles for the arctic fox, cool carrot treats for our very own cow and even catch an elephant bath! Visit www.tulsazoo.org for a full schedule of keeper chats and animal demonstrations happening throughout the week.
