Susan Gibson, winner of the 1999 Country Music Awards “Song of the Year” and 1999 Grammy “Song of the Year” nominee for her song 'Wide Open Spaces', which was recorded by the Dixie Chicks and has sold more copies than any other song in the history of country music, returns to Davis to perform at Americana Unplugged’s final benefit concert on Thursday, November 4th at 7:00 pm at the La Ville Inn at 223 Main Street

Susan has been performing at sold out venues all across the country as she promotes her critically acclaimed new CD, “New Dog, Old Tricks”. As 100% of the ticket sales goes to the artist, for every person who attends (up to 50) local businesses have currently pledged a matching $13.30 towards the Davis Oklahoma Animal Volunteers.

An avid dog lover, Susan eagerly accepted the offer to perform again at a benefit for the Davis OK Animal Volunteers as she recognizes the need to end the suffering of innocent dogs and cats by reducing the number of unwanted animal births and strays.

This will be the last of Americana Unplugged’s benefit concerts as the series organizer, Larry Lyon, is moving to New Mexico. Since August, 2006, 54 Americana Unplugged concerts have raised over $23,000 in pledges and contributions from it’s generous sponsor in order to benefit local causes such as the Sulphur Veteran’s fund, the Davis High School Band Boosters, the Sulphur FFA, The Davis Police Reserves, Davis’ local Boy and Girl Scout chapters, the Key Club, the Davis Historical Society, the Davis Public Education Fund, the Davis Main Street Association, and numerous other local causes.

Doors open at 6:00 pm, seating begins at 6:30, performance at 7:00 pm. Discount tickets are $12.50 in advance and $15 the day of the show. Advance tickets are available online at , and in downtown Davis at Jone’s Custom Jewelry.
