Broadway star and singing sensation Jenn Gambatese is coming to West Broadway in Muskogee, where she will perform and teach a master class in Broadway singing.

The special appearance is Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church in Muskogee, 500 West Broadway.  There is no charge for this performance, which is being underwritten by Muskogee area community leaders and the First Presbyterian Church.

“Muskogee is thrilled to have an actor, singer and performer of the stature of Jenn Gambatese to entertain our community and share her musical talent with master class students,” said the Rev. Ann Brizendine, Muskogee First Presbyterian Church.

“This is a must-see performance and First Presbyterian is proud to be part of a community effort to make this possible.   Plus it’s free,” she added.

Gambatese was raised in small suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, where she became interested in acting at summer camp between the 4th and 5th grades, playing ‘a whitewasher’ in Tom Sawyer.

She has numerous Broadway credits to her career, including her first Broadway show, Footloose.  Also, she performed on Broadway as Brenda in Hairspray; was Jane in Tarzan and appeared in All Shook Up.  She played Anne Frank  in American Family Theater’s Anne Frank, A Voice Heard; toured Europe and North America as the shy drama student Serena Katz in Fame, where she earned a National Broadway Theater Award nomination for Best Actress in a musical and recorded her first original cast album.
