The deadline for the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center’s summer camp, History Explorers is May 31. Camp dates are June 27-July 1, 2011 from 8 a.m. – Noon. Students entering grades 4-6 will discover what it was like to live in the Cherokee Outlet over 100 years ago. Adventures include a day at Turkey Creek School, a lawn social with tea and dancing, fishing and outdoor games, frontier army exploration, land surveying and mapping and a cowboy cattle drive. History Explorers will collect many artifacts on their explorations to take home at the end of the adventure. The adventure will close with a special cowboy camp for campers and their parents. Registration is limited to 26 students. The registration fee is $100 and includes a camp T-shirt. Join the History Explorers and have a fun filled Frontier Adventure this summer!  For more information contact the Education Department at (580) 237-1907 x227.
