Plenty of Tickets Available for 'Bravo Dr. Seuss!' Children's Concert

Oklahoma City - On Saturday, January 15, the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and the Downtown Metropolitan Library team up for an exciting morning of Seuss-A-Palooza! in preperation for the 'Bravo, Dr. Seuss!'concert with the OKC PHIL Discovery Family Series.

The morning begins at 10:00am with a breakfast of Green Eggs and Ham prepared by Chef Ryan Parrott of the Iguana Mexican Grill. Phil the Penguin (the Discovery Family Series mascot) and the Cat in the Hat will be mingling with the tables and taking photos with attendees.

During the breakfast Discovery Family Series Conductor Matthew Troy will present Musical Stories featuring books from Dr. Seuss with a quartet of musicians from the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. 'The Sneeches' will also be on hand to perform their Dr. Seuss book as well.

Following the breakfast and presentations, families are encouraged to visit the classroom space in the library to experience the Instrument Playground.

Although the breakfast is sold out, plenty of seating is available for the 'Bravo, Dr. Seuss!' on Sunday, January 16, at 2:00pm at the Civic Center Music Hall.


Bravo, Dr. Seuss! Concert

Oklahoma City - On Sunday, January 16, 2011, at 2:00pm at the Civic Center Music Hall, the Oklahoma City Philharmonicand the Pauline Dwyer Macklanburg and Robert A. Macklanburg, Jr. Foundation present, 'Bravo, Dr. Seuss!', the second concert in the Discovery Family Series.

We'll play a loud song, a soft song, a big song, and a small song as we pay tribute to everyone's favorite childhood author - Dr. Seuss. With musical versions of “Green Eggs & Ham” and“Gertrude McFuzz,”this afternoon family concert will delight everyone from the Cat in the Hat to the Lorax.

Pre-Concert activities begin at 1:00pmand include a presentation by Dr. Seuss's 'The Sneeches,' Phil the Penguin's Song, activities from the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, and the ever-popularInstrument Playgound.

Also, the first 700 children through the door will receive a copy of 'The Adventures of the Cat in the Hat' thanks to a generous grant from BancFirst.
