GUTHRIE, OK, December 6, 2010 – Visitors to downtown historic Guthrie this weekend are invited to tour historic Victorian homes on Saturday, December 11 as part of Guthrie’s annual Territorial Christmas Celebration.

“There is no other event in Oklahoma like Guthrie’s Territorial Christmas celebration,” Guthrie Chamber of Commerce President Mary Coffin said. “The town transforms from the 21st Century to the 19th Century. This year we are hosting the Historic Homes Tour that are sure to take visitors back in time to the Victorian era.”

The Historic Homes Tour will feature multiple Victorian homes that are over 100 years old! Each home will be decorated for the holidays. The Historic Homes Tour is from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m and tickets are $20.00 per person.

Other Territorial Christmas Celebration activities include Victorian Walk Evenings on December 11 & 18; Candlelight Trolley Tours on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in December; plus various concerts at the Double Stop Fiddle Shop.

An all-time best seller, A Territorial Christmas Carol continues to dazzle audiences and play to sold-out houses into its twenty-third year. Adapted by gifted Oklahoma playwright, Stephen P. Scott, this version of Charles Dickens' classic tale of redemption and brotherly love is set in Guthrie in the days of the Oklahoma Land Run.
