On June 11th, 2011 MCCOYS and WISH will host the Annual Muskogee Three Forks Harbor Mud Volleyball Tournament. The tournament will be held at Three Forks Harbor on the Arkansas River and is open to the public.  Mud Volleyball is different in that all games are played in 2 feet of soft mud.  Shoes must be duct taped on at all times and after each game teams are sprayed down with fire hoses to wash off the mud, some even jump in the harbor.

This year the event theme is “Mudstock” and spectators are welcome and will enjoy a live music, belly flop contest, inflatables and concessions.  Live music will include local bands in a fun family type festival atmosphere.  Trophies and prizes will be awarded for the Best Dressed Team (prior to play), Most Spirited Team, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.  Photos from last year’s event are available at www.mccys.org.

All proceeds will benefit MCCOYS (Muskogee County Council of Youth Services) and WISH (Women In Safe Home).  Donations are welcome and sponsorships are available.  Teams of 8 are encouraged to enter with 2 alternates, must have at least 4 females on the court at all times.

“It’s all just good clean fun.  Mud Volleyball is a fun family oriented activity and a great way to raise money for our organizations,” said Mark Winters, Director of MCCOYS.

There is still time to enter a team for the tournament.  Team entry deadline is June 3rd and the cost is $250 a team.  This year’s event will be the biggest Mud Volleyball Tournament yet.
