(Norman, Okla) February 10, 2011 — “The concert will open with two of Vivaldi’s most popular double concertos, featuring four of Oklahoma’s finest artists as well as a distinguished guest,” says Eugene Enrico, Reaugh Professor of Musicology and artistic director for Accademia Filarmonica..

The Sutton Concert Series presents Accademia Filarmonica at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, in the Sharp Concert Hall. Guest artist Jay Coble and OU Trumpet Professor Karl Sievers will solo in Vivaldi’s ‘Concerto in C Major for Two Trumpets and Strings.’  Concertmasters and OU Violin Professors Gregory Lee and Hal Grossman, along with OU Cello Professor Jonathan Ruck will be featured in Vivaldi’s ‘Concerto in d minor, Op. III, No. 11.’

The finale of the concert will feature the OU Chorale, singing Vivaldi’s ‘Dixit Dominus RV 595.’  Soloists include Donna MitchellCox, soprano, Rebekeh Ambrosini, contralto, Bradley Williams, tenor and Kim Josephson, baritone.  Richard Zielinski, OU Director of Choral Activities, will conduct.
