New Program Helps Students Experience Art at the Capitol
By Tourism Industry Partner
Schools from around the state may be eligible for a new Oklahoma Arts Council grant program designed to engage students through an educational opportunity in the arts! Capitol Art Travel Subsidies are now available for schools to bring students to the State Capitol to experience and explore its monumental sculptures, murals and paintings. Grants cover the cost of transportation to and from the Capitol (including gas, bus rental and driver), and the application process is simple.
As part of the program, staff from the Oklahoma Arts Council is available to guide students and teachers through the Capitol galleries. A Capitol Art Field Trip Guide with lesson plans and details about the art at the Capitol is available for classes to review before their visit.
The program is made possible through a partnership with the Oklahoma Humanities Council. For more information please contact Alyson Atchison at firstname.lastname@example.org or (405) 521-2020.
