February 15, 2011— “Giant puppets, acrobats, and a Chinese dragon: these colorful fairytales are like no opera you ever imagined,” says William Ferrara, stage director for the OU School of Music Opera Theatre. “The music and dancing is as exotic and brilliant as the costumes. Children will lovethis show.”


The University of Oklahoma Schools of Dance and Music Opera Theatre present a double billing of Igor Stravinsky’s “Mavra” and “Le Rossignol” (The Nightingale) at 8 p.m., March 3, 4 and 5, and at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 6, in the OU Donald W. Reynolds Performing Arts Center, Oklahoma’s only European-style performance hall.
