(Norman, Okla.) April 7, 2011 — “We are encouraging creative formal wear for this event,” says Tiffany Henley, sophomore Studio major at the OU School of Art and Art History. “There will be a best-dressed competition, as well as a contest for best hair and best dancers.”


The University of Oklahoma School of Art and Art History hosts PhantaSEA, a fundraising prom,from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday, April 23, in the Lightwell Gallery. PhantaSEA is organized and hosted by the students of the School of Art and Art History and is open to the public. Dress for the evening is formal attire.


Wristbands for admission can be purchased in the main office of the School of Art and Art History in room 202 of the Fred Jones Center. Pre-sale wristbands are $10 each, or $15 for two, if purchased before Friday, April 22. Wristbands will also be sold at the door for $15 each, or $20 for two. All proceeds from the event will go towards travel and research funds for students and faculty at the School of Art and Art History.


PhantaSEA will be catered with delicious finger foods, sweets, and punch. Winners for the various contests will be announced and presented with trophies at 10:30 p.m. There will also be a photo booth where attendees can get their photos taken for $1 per person per photo.
