Sign-Up & Celebrate at Miami Native Oklahoma Weekend 2011

Whether you cook, craft, or run there’s something for everyone at the 3rd Annual Miami NOW (Native Oklahoma Weekend), recipient of the 2010 Oklahoma Tourism Merit Award and Grand Lake Association's Best Grand Lake Event 2010. Vendors and competitors are getting geared up for one of the many competitions, but there is still time to sign-up and compete at the Northeast Oklahoma festival coming up September 30 - October 1. There are many ways to get involved, but most require pre- registration. Sign-up today and join the fun.

WARDOG CHILI COOK-OFF
Yummmm…autumn weather and the best bowl of chili is what you will enjoy at the Wardog Chili Cook-off, hosted by the Miami High School Basketball Booster Club on Saturday, October 1. If you believe you have the best bowl of chili and want to put it to the test, sign-up for the cook-off or come take part by purchasing a tasting kit during the competition. 5th ANNUAL GREEN COUNTRY 5K RUN/WALK
Autumn is a great opportunity to run and runners will take their mark for the 5th Annual Green Country 5k Run/Walk, hosted by Integris Baptist Regional Health Center, to benefit United Way of Ottawa County on Saturday, October 1. Register in advance or between 7-8:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 1st at the Miami Physician Clinic at 30 B Street SW. The race will begin at 9am and conclude at the First National Bank at Central & Main Street, Downtown Miami. ENDLESS MEMORIES BENEFIT CAR SHOW
Over 200 cars and motorcycles will converge on the Miami NOW Festival at the 3rd Annual Endless Memories Car Show on Saturday, October 1 at the Miami Fairgrounds. Classes include car, truck, rat rod, and motorcycles. Dash plaques, over 75 awards, cash drawings and great fun for everyone. ROUTE 66 DACHSHUND RACES
Is your Dachshund a Dash Hound! Prove your Dachshund is the best at the Rt. 66 Dachshund Race, to be held at 10am on Saturday, October 1st at the Miami Fairgrounds. 3rd ANNUAL RIVERVIEW OPEN DISC GOLF TOURNAMENT
This PDGA Sanctioned C-Tier Tournament, hosted by Ottawa County Disc Golf Club, invites competitors, as well as spectators, to join them at Riverview Park for this exciting tournament. Disc golf is played much like traditional golf. Instead of using a ball and clubs, however, players use a flying disc or Frisbee®. For more information, contact Gregg Cass at 533-5477.
