The Hal & Fern Cooper Wildlife Management Area covers 16,080 acres of northwestern Woodward and south-central Harper County. This wildlife area brings visitors in for hunting, fishing, camping and bird watching throughout the year. 

Five designated primitive camping areas are offered on the area, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Supply Lake offer campsites with facilities and RV hookups. Guests can enjoy nearby restaurants in Woodward. Find seasonal fishing opportunities in Beaver River, Wolf Creek and the North Canadian River.

Cooper WMA has 18 windmills and 7 solar powered water pumps to provide watering facilities for wildlife. Management practices include prescribed grazing of cattle, strip disking, strip mowing and prescribed burns.

Primarily upland rolling sand hills with around 4,500 acres of river bottom, mixed grass prairie and sagebrush is found on upland sites, interspersed with sand plum thickets. The river bottom is fairly open and consists of cottonwood, American elm, hackberry, and eastern red cedar interspersed with sand plum thickets, salt cedar, and mixed grassland. Beaver River joins Wolf Creek to create the North Canadian river in the area.
