Plan your outdoor adventure in the Boathouse District in Oklahoma City and you're in for a day of fun. Set right on the Oklahoma River near downtown and the Bricktown Entertainment District, the Boathouse District is a premier destination for recreation. Architecturally stunning, world-class facilities designed by Rand Elliott and Rand Elliot + Associates Architects line the Boathouse District and stand tall over the Oklahoma River.

Riversport Adventures, located within the Boathouse District, includes the world's tallest adventure course: the 80-ft. SandRidge Sky Trail with the Sky Slide and 80 ft Rumble Drop free fall experience, as well as the Air Express Zip Line, Extreme Air Launcher and Sky Zip, a 700-ft. zip line across the Oklahoma River and back. Younger kids will enjoy the Sky Tykes mini sky trail, the cloud bounce and the kids' zip line.

Make your way down to the Boathouse District to choose from a number of recreational activities. OKC Riversport, headquartered in the Chesapeake Boathouse, provides a laundry list of exciting things to do on or around the Oklahoma River. Learn how to kayak or canoe, rent a bike or trek on foot around the 13+ miles of paved trails that wind around the river. Bring a group for a ride in a colorful dragon boat, or take a tour of the boathouse to admire its modern architecture and learn about the emergence of the Oklahoma River as a rowing mecca. See where art meets the river at the CHK|Central Boathouse, home to UCO's women's rowing team, as well as a live music venue and art gallery.

The Oklahoma River is the only river to be named an official U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Site in rowing and canoe/kayak, and competitors from around the world flock to the Boathouse District to train in the fitness facilities and hone their skills on the Oklahoma River. Also, the Devon Boathouse is the home of OCU Rowing and Canoe/Kayak and headquarters of the OKC National High Performance Center, where 12 of our nation's Olympians currently train.

A number of family-friendly events are held annually in the Boathouse District, including the Oklahoma Regatta Festival. Over 1,000 of the nation's fastest rowers converge on the Oklahoma River to compete, and a family-fun festival with live entertainment and fireworks takes place on shore. The annual Holiday River Parade brings the holiday spirit to the Oklahoma River, as onlookers watch as festive decorated and lighted displays, some carrying performers, make their way down the river on the water. Also, don't forget to attend the patriotic Stars & Stripes River Festival held each summer.
