Riversport Adventures, located within the Boathouse District, includes the world's tallest adventure course: the 80-ft. SandRidge Sky Trail, as well as the Air Express Zip Line and Extreme Air Launcher. Opening in the summer of 2013, Riversport will also features the Sky Slide, Base Jump free fall and the Sky Zip, a 700-ft. zip line across the Oklahoma River and back. Younger kids will enjoy the Sky Tykes mini sky trail, the cloud bounce and the kids' zip line.
The Oklahoma River is the only river to be named an official U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Site in rowing, canoeing and kayaking, and competitors from around the world flock to the Boathouse District to train in the fitness facilities and practice their skills on the Oklahoma River. Also, the Devon Boathouse is the home of OCU Rowing and Canoe/Kayak and headquarters of the OKC National High Performance Center.
A number of family-friendly events are held annually at the Boathouse District, including the Oklahoma Regatta Festival. Over 1,000 of the world's fastest rowers converge on the Oklahoma River to train and compete, and a festival coincides. In past years, the festival has featured a rock climbing wall and inflatables. The annual Holiday River Parade brings the holiday spirit to the Oklahoma River, as onlookers watch as festive decorated and lighted displays, some carrying performers, make their way down the river on the water. Also, don't forget to attend the patriotic Stars & Stripes River Festival held each summer.
