Heyburn Lake is located on Polecat Creek about 13 miles southwest of Sapulpa in Creek County. Heyburn lies in a picturesque setting of grasslands and gently sloping, wooded hills covered with postoak, blackjack and other oak with some hickory, ash, elm and cottonwood. In the spring, visitors enjoy the flowering wild plum and redbud trees.
