Lake Eufaula

Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma's largest lake, is located in southeastern Oklahoma near the city of Eufaula.  Covering 105,500 surface acres with 600 miles of shoreline, Lake Eufaula is a precious Oklahoma resource.  Visitors to Lake Eufaula will be amazed at the wide variety of activities that can be enjoyed both on the water and on the shore. 

For fun on the water, Lake Eufaula has multiple marinas and rentals are available at some for houseboats, pontoon boats, ski boats and paddle boats.  The marinas on the lake also provide boating accessories and groceries to ensure visitors are prepared on their outing.  For visitors who bring their own boat, there are many boat ramps available for easy access.  Enjoy the action of water sports including skiing, wakeboarding and tubing while speeding across the lake, or relax on a slowly-moving pontoon boat.  Canoe and kayak rentals are also available at Lake Eufaula.

Fishing is a favorite pastime at Lake Eufaula.  Tournaments are held every year and fishermen come from all around to compete for bragging rights.  Fishing at Lake Eufaula is a year-round sport, and some marinas feature enclosed, heated docks for fishing in comfort during winter.  Bait and fishing supplies are available at the marinas.  Fish that can be found in Lake Eufaula include white bass, catfish, crappie and striper, among others.

There are also many things to see and do on Lake Eufaula's shores.  Many different species of wildlife call the area their home, and can often be seen in their natural habitat. The nature center in Eufaula State Park is a great place to learn about these animals.  Miles of hiking, biking, equestrian and ATV riding trails can be explored around Lake Eufaula. In the 31,800 acres of public hunting areas near the lake, deer, quail, geese and ducks can be found.  Lake Eufaula State Park and Arrowhead State Park both offer beautiful 18-hole golf courses.  Visitors can also enjoy playgrounds and swimming beaches along the shores of Lake Eufaula.

***NOTICE*** (5/14/2013):  Testing was performed on 5/6/2013 and while blue-green algae cell counts were elevated in the Elm Point and Gentry Creek areas of Lake Eufaula, toxicity levels reported on 5/14/13 are below the World Health Organization threshold.  Visitors should not drink untreated water or let themselves or pets come in contact with areas of discolored water.  Although swimming in these areas is discouraged, visitors can still enjoy boating and many land activities around Lake Eufaula. Recent water quality tests were performed at the Highway 9 North, Brooken Cove, Porum Landing and Belle Starr areas of Lake Eufaula and have shown that blue-green algae did not pose a concern for recreational use at the time the test was performed.
