My family loved this place. It was our first time going to Lake Murray. They got us on one of their pontoon boats very quickly. They gave us a very helpful orientation which should save you from damaging there equipment. Overall fantastic time on the pontoon. The sunset cruise was great learned a lot about the history and saw some cool sights while being on the cruise. Very family oriented and always looking out for Safety.

We love this place and have gone several times. After reading the below comments, I'm a little surprised by the negative ones. They've always been really nice and yes they have to protect their property so I get it. Take care of it and there won't be a problem and as long as the property is taken care of then my husband and kids get to keep coming every other summer to enjoy it.

From H. C. on 09/01/14

The lake was beautiful but the business environment was terrible, especially the owner guy. Agreed with robinett, we felt like we were in prison. They didn't care much about the customers but rather protect their own profits. I read many bad comments about this guy but decided to go any way. Now I knew. Never go back again.

From robinett on 08/25/14

It sucked...felt like I was in prison....never go back again or rent!!!

From Todd on 07/27/14

Owners and staff were very helpful and friendly. All charges, instructions, laws, etc. were explained in detail before we left their dock. We will definitely rent from them again

From Roman on 07/26/14

For the people who are thinking that we did a damage, we find out that one of our guy took the video before and damage was there already. So do u guys think we sould sue them for this?

From Roman on 07/26/14

Never rent a boat and if u rent a boat check it before!! When u get back they will show u some scratches and charge u $500 and try to scare u to call police and take u to jail!!! Again do not rent anything!!!

From David on 07/06/14

Really do not understand where all these bad reviews are coming from. Instructions were very clear pertaining to the Wave Runner Island Cruiser. They do charge for scratches, but here is a little piece of advice to everyone who is upset about damages they feel they did not do. DO NOT RENT SOMETHING WITHOUT LOOKING AT IT FIRST. Customer service was exceptional. Had a great day out on the lake. We'll be coming again next summer.

From Steven on 06/25/14

Rented two wave runners this weekend and had a great time would definitely rent again. Disregard all the bad reviews as long as you listen and follow all the rules you wont have hidden fees.

From Heath on 06/23/14

Just rented the wave runner island cruiser this weekend. It was a sweet set up. Staff was helpful. They checked on us a couple times while we were out on the lake to see if we needed anything. This was our first time out on the water. They showed us where we could go to tie up while out on the lake. We will use again. Thanks.

From Jake on 06/18/14

These are only bad reviews for people who do damage to something. They're just trying to keep us safe and not have there stuff tore up by irresponsible people.

From Stone on 06/03/14

Man... Sure was going to take my daughter up there JUST to go out on a pontoon, but after reading these reviews?? I'll let them rip off someone else... what a joke.. not ONE Good review... TX Lakes... here I come!!

From Mo on 05/26/14

Poor service. Friends and I rented a jetski and boat for four hours and were slammed by hidden fees. Not once did they mention that during the 4hr rental that the jet ski was only rented for 1hr. Upon returning the boat/jetski almost an hour early, We were charged an extra $100 in overage charges for the jet ski. We were instructed very rudely by the owner during our pre trip orientation. He only really seemed to care when we were no longer interested in renting a second jet ski... makes sense, more overage money. Had a great time on the lake, wish it would not have been dampened by a crooked business operation.

From Brett on 05/24/14

My friends and I rented out one of their Wave Runner Island Cruiser for a half day for two hundred dollars. We were just told to bring it back in within four hours. We took the boat out for three and a half hours after a lengthy, scare-tactic speech from the owner. At least I assume Larry was the owner. When we cleared all of our things off the boat and offered to help clean the grill, we were then slammed with some hidden fees. They then told us that you can only use the detachable jet ski for one hour of the four hour rental. The overage charge made us spend almost double what we calculated. We were just very turned off by their unprofessionalism and slimy business tactics.

From Ed on 06/13/13

Horrible service! Paddle boat was poorly designed. When we asked if we could switch to a kayak they said we couldn't since we already took the paddle boat out. WE WERE OUT FOR LESS THAN 2 MINUTES!

From David on 11/14/12

Do not rent if you are not an experienced boater. Lake is full of moss and any slight damage to the boat or wave runner could cost you at least $250.

From Tina G on 10/15/12

Worst service and boats ever. The boat broke down on us.

From Ricardo Jalomo on 09/26/12

You are at a wrong place if you are here for any water sports. The boat rental company sucks. It is privately owned and you get a horrible service. Please make sure you have insurance before renting boats or wave runners, it could cost you a fortune.

From Tom Smith on 09/19/12

Stayed two days at Lake Murray. Cabins and campgrounds were okay. Had terrible experience at the boat rental place. These people were rude and acted like we were criminals! Don't rent boat or jet ski from this place. Find another place or you are better off doing something else.

From Chris Putnam on 09/18/12

We had a really horrible weekend. Cabin was ok but doesn't have any lake view. If you are planning to rent a boat, try to find another lake/boat rental place. Our experience was horrible and would never go back to that place.

From Jeffrey Jackson on 09/17/12

Never rent any boat or jet ski from the rental place. They rip you off your money. We rented a boat and a jet ski and they told us that we scratched the jet ski with a boat. We know that never happened because we never bought the jet ski anywhere close to the boat. They charged us double the rental just for a very small scratch. When we refused, they said they will call the cops on us. They never show you how the jet ski was before they rent it to you. But once you return they charge you even for damage on the jet ski and boat that existed before you rented it out. Our experience was horrible with them. Please look for some other place for your vacation.
