The NOAA National Severe Storms Laboratory in Norman is a government research lab specializing in severe and hazardous weather research.  The lab's mission is aimed at understanding weather phenomena, improving forecasting and warning techniques, developing operational applications and transferring information to the National Weather Service and other public and private sector agencies.  The NOAA National Severe Storms Laboratory is part of the National Weather Center tour.
