Does the campsites at this lake accept the Senior Pass?

Newalla fisher, not sure why you aren't paying fees at Shawnee. It actually costs more to fish at Shawnee lake than it does to fish at Wes Watkins. It's only five for the boat and two to fish.

i am sick of the fee's.. this lake has been around long enough and collected enough fee's to have paid for itself.... i have not been this year and will not go back until theyt drop the fee's and the catch&release rules....i mean shawnee lake and thunderbird are both within a 10 min drive from here.... and have way better facilities with no fee's.....

It would be helpful if your website had a map of the RV sites and more info about $$ and reservations. I am interested in reserving for our camping group, approx. 15 rigs, for 2 nights. Many stay longer. An enclosed shelter at reasonable $$ for meetings and activities would be desirable.

Melanie, Im sorry that you feel this way. We have a very small crew but we care greatly about the park as well as it's patrons and work with the budget and time that we are given to our best ability. We took over management in July of 2010 with little warning and worked extremely hard to pick up the best processes and methods to best operate the recreation area and facilities that we were given and are still learning. We strive to keep the entire lake property clean and safe and we are always willing to attend to any problem that is brought to our attention. The batrooms are located at a lake along with it's insects and conditions and will probably never see doors or curtains due to the design and use, it is simply not pracical. As far as the cleanliness, they are pressure washed with anti-bacterial soaps. We have seen hundreds of campers over the past summer who have had an enjoyable experience and we really appreciate your patronage, to those we would like you to know that will always try our best to keep a clean and safe place for you to bring your families, we are always working to improve the reservoir and its aging facilities. While this is a pretty campground with great RV sites, they very obviously cater to the big, fully equipped motor homes. You can tell this by the condition of the bath houses and toilets. We camped there last year, and were horrified. My husband finally hosed down the floors and stalls himself because after three days no one had touched them. Also, there are no doors on the toilet stalls, and no doors OR curtains on the shower stalls. We camp in a pop-up camper with no facilities so we had no choice but to use them. A friend and I went out last week and checked because we'd heard they'd been redone and cleaned up. Nope. Same nasty condition they were in a year ago. We will never ever camp there again, and that's a shame, because it is a pretty place. It just needs someone to care about it, and the campers.
