Celebrate Independence Day at Laverne's 4th of July Celebration, a two-day extravaganza filled with activities for all ages. Start off this annual event by competing in the lucky duck race or hot wing eating contest, followed by other competitions during the weekend like cornhole, fun runs, volleyball, horseshoes and a swim meet. There will also be plenty of other activities and entertainment including live music, a parade, turtle races and a flag ceremony. Take a break from the fun and fuel up at the pancake breakfast, free barbecue dinner and the various on-site food truck. Round out the entire weekend by watching the firework show near Laverne's football field.
