The Oklahoma City Zoo Amphitheatre was the first and principal structure built in Oklahoma City by the Civilian Conservation Corps. It was established to provide jobs for economic recovery during the Great Depression, and was constructed from native sandstone during 1935 and 1936 by workers who camped near the park. 

The Oklahoma City Zoo Amphitheatre has been a beloved entertainment destination for generations, hosting a wide array of performances over the years. From the inaugural show, “The Circus of 21 Death-Defying Acts,” to performances by legendary artists such as Willie Nelson, Joni Mitchell, Grateful Dead, Alice Cooper, The Flaming Lips, Kesha, ZZ Top and The Eurythmics – the venue has seen an impressive lineup of talent grace its stage.

The historic Zoo Amphitheatre continues to be Oklahoma City’s treasured outdoor music venue hosting live music events throughout the summer.
