The Vinita Public Library houses excellent genealogical resources for Craig County. The library is staffed by volunteers from the Craig County Genealogical Society from 1-4pm during weekdays and Saturday by appointment, ready to assist in visitors' genealogical searches.

Sift through the library's vast genealogy records, and come across an assortment of Indian Territory maps, Cherokee marriage licenses from 1902-1907, the Vinita Daily Journal from 1960-1970 on microfilm, Craig County cemetery books, obituary records from 1920-present, the 1890 Indian census, as well as various census books from Missouri and Kentucky. Visitors can also use the 10-12 computers on hand to access genealogy research resources online. Appointments are needed for visitors interested in the genealogy section.
