Come enjoy a special guided tour at Oklahoma's only prehistoric Native American archaeological site open to the public. Each tour will be one mile of easy walking on paved trails and will last for about two hours. Archaeologist Dennis Peterson will tell you all about the powerful Caddoans who created the mounds between 900-1450 A.D., how they became a very important leadership group and why some of the 12 mounds line up to solstice and equinox sunsets. You won't want to miss this fascinating experience at the Spiro Mounds Archeological Center.
