In 2003, the Alva Mural Society commissioned artist Roger Cooke to create this “McKeever School” mural in memory of the 224 one-room schools that once dotted Woods County. Since then, McKeever School has been restored and is now part of the Northwestern Oklahoma State University campus in Alva.
