Kiowa Indian Summer Festival
Head to southeastern Oklahoma for the Kiowa Indian Summer Festival the third Saturday in September.
This family-friendly festival embraces the transition from summer to fall with a day full of fun events. Kiowa Indian Summer Fest kicks off with a proper Main Street style parade, followed by exciting performances from trick roper and humorist, The Oklahoma Kid and gun-slinging action from the Indian Territory Pistoliers. After the parade and performances, be sure to check out the local booths featuring great home style food, handmade crafts and both silent and pastry auctions. Toward sundown, line up for a street dance featuring the Red Dirt music of Dale Moser and Blackhorse.
