Alejandro Escovedo in Concert
Join songwriting royalty Alejandro Escovedo as he holds court at the Blue Door for a very special evening in the heart of Oklahoma City.
Escovedo cut his teeth playing with the Nuns in the no-holds-barred North Beach punk scene of the late 1970s. From there he became heavily involved in early 1980s cow punk as the guitarist for Rank & File before moving back to Austin and starting the influential True Beleivers with his brother. The band broke up and Escovedo went solo, releasing several albums and carving a reputation as a songwriter’s songwriter with blistering, roots rock. In addition to classics like “Always a Friend,” “Sister Lost Soul,” “Can’t Make Me Run” or “Chelsea Hotel ‘78” expect to hear some amazing music from this master songsmith.
Shawnee native Kierston White will be holding down opening duties for this show. In addition to her day job, this Tequila Songbird is touring with her brand new, all original record, Don’t Write Love Songs.
