New Genre Festival
307 E Brady St
Appreciate non-traditional art forms at the New Genre Festival held at the Living Arts of Tulsa. At this experimental and fresh take on art, a diverse range of visual, dance and performance artists will present boundary-pushing pieces that tie together old and new media.
View the "Untitled, OH. #8" installation, which combines clay objects and tiles with digital video projection, representing elements of place that relate to the natural and artificial experience of landscape. Another installation, "We Are All Connected, Elementally," features holographic work, where carbon, gold and iron are integrated with works of light.
The "Remembering What Never Happened & Under the Skin" multimedia performance will entertain the audience while looking into the intersection of memory and imagination. This live performance will incorporate a mixture of dance and video images, blending together photo realism and abstract works.
Another unique element of the New Genre Festival includes the Judy Dunaway Balloon Concert. During this surprising live music performance, Judy Dunaway will perform a latex balloon solo, as well as Balloon Symphony No. 2, which relies on the audience's participation.
Aside from all the one-of-a-kind art at New Genre Festival, aspiring artists of all ages can also engage with presenting artists in workshops, from "Connecting Movement with Video" to "Creating Holographic Work."
