Audubon Christmas Bird Count
901 W 1st St
This holiday season, join scores of other citizen scientists and bird lovers at the Chickasaw National Recreation Area for their annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count.
Held since 1901, this beloved annual tradition allows volunteers to explore the park alongside Rangers, chronicling both the annual winter migratory bird and native species. Meet up is at the Travertine Nature Center at 9am. Volunteers should dress appropriately for a day in the Oklahoma outdoors and don't forget to bring along a notebook and binoculars. Some binoculars will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis and volunteers under 18 will need a parent or guardian's signature.
