The Shawnee Tribe Cultural Center in Miami immerses visitors in the past, present and future of the Shawnee Tribe.

Opened in 2018, this Route 66 center shares Shawnee culture with a self-guided museum featuring rotating and permanent exhibits. The center hosts a variety of events that invite visitors to take part in and experience the tribe's culture. Join the Shawnee Tribe in its cultural revival.

Learn about ancient pottery and ceramics, view historical Shawnee objects, explore aspects of the Shawnee language and much more. In the permanent exhibit "Shawnee," guests will experience the oral storytelling traditions of the Shawnee people, emphasizing the importance of conversation in sustaining a culture's history. Consider different ways to learn, share and preserve the story of indigenous cultures through your own experiences in this exhibit.

Throughout the year, the Shawnee Tribe Cultural Center will host events that invite all visitors to participate in the Shawnee Tribe's present and future. Hear current artists, scholars, community leaders and more speak about an array of subjects relevant to Shawnee culture, and participate in events like Native Art Market featuring native artists.

Browse through the center's store to find local handmade items, clothing, craft supplies, beads, local gear and more. The shop focuses on products by Native American artists and makers.

Enjoy a self-guided tour through the exhibits or schedule a guided tour by appointment.
