Experience the power of human memory as Tulsa Project Theatre presents the play "The Resurrection of Black Wall Street" at Tulsa Performing Arts Center's John H. Williams Theatre. In the early 1900s, Tulsa was home to a famous African American business district known as Greenwood. Booker T. Washington visited the area and christened it "Black Wall Street" because it was so prosperous. Sadly, much of it was destroyed in the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. This new play by Rebecca Marks Jimerson and Henry Primeaux is based on the childhood memories of massacre survivor Lassie Benningfield Randle.
