The Local Bison
Oklahoma food with a modern twist takes shape at The Local Bison in downtown Tulsa. Developed by couple Tony and Emily Galvez, this locally-focused bar and grill uses fresh ingredients from Tulsa farms and vendors.
The Local Bison specializes in Southwestern flavors, unique burgers and craft cocktails. Stop by for a hearty lunch or dinner, or bring a group of friends to share this restaurant's unique snacks. Start off with an order of classic beer-battered onion rings, salsa verde hummus or fried green tomatoes.
Move onto Local Bison's selection of flavorful burgers, ranging from the simple pickles, onion and lettuce variety to more complex combinations. The Menehune burger boasts tropical flavors with rum-grilled pineapple and jalapenos with bacon, jack cheese and volcano aioli. Go totally Oklahoman with The Bison, featuring a bison blend burger with bacon jam, caramelized onion, brie cheese, lettuce and tomato. Whatever you choose, all burgers can be customized to be vegan, so everyone can enjoy these tasty offerings.
For fork-and-knife dining, choose from dishes like Southern-style shrimp and grits, potato chip chicken or a variety of flatbreads and sandwiches. You'll find plenty of updates to comfort food classics, like grilled cheese stuffed with fried mac-n-cheese or jackfuit al pastor.
A neighborhood bar in the Deco District, Local Bison makes for the perfect post-work haunt. Sip on unique cocktail creations, like the Chocolate Covered Cherry Ol' Fashion with cacao rum, or the Blackberry Mezcal Mule. Don't forget to take advantage of Local Bison's happy hour, which takes place each week day from 3-6pm.
