The Trail Mural

At the corner of Main and Grand where the Chisholm Trail once was blazed, visitors can now see "The Trail" mural on the side of Garfield Furniture in Enid. The metal relief mural was created by Enid artist Paul Stone. Installed and dedicated in 2016 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Chisholm Trail in conjunction with a three-state celebration, it depicts a herd of cattle being driven along by a cowboy.
The mural also honors Bob Klemme, Chisholm Trail historian and Enid native. The cowboy leading the herd up the trail in the mural was made with the likeness of Klemme, who personally created and installed over 400 markers along the Chisholm Trail across the state.
