First Day Hike at Black Mesa State Park
Mark your calendar for a visit to Black Mesa State Park near Kenton on January 1 for a free guided hike. Enjoy an excellent views of Lake Carl Etling while hiking along the 1.25-mile moderate to strenuous Rock Garden Trail. Bring your binoculars, camera, water and appropriate dress for a cool weather hike. Leashed pets are allowed.
The event is held in conjunction with the America's State Parks First Day Hikes initiative that will take place in all 50 states. First Day Hikes encourage individuals and families to start the year off on the right foot with a trek through a state park.
