Choctaw Cultural Center's 1st Anniversary Celebration
Celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Choctaw Cultural Center in Calera with a day of children's activities, interactive classes, demonstrations, an art market and the reveal of the new "Chiefs, Clans and Kin" exhibit. Children can enjoy flying kites, rabbit stick throwing, activities in the Living Village and more. Learn how to play stickball, witness a social dance exhibition or join a chocolate making class in the Cooking Classroom. Inspirational and educational documentaries will play in the Kowi Chito Theater throughout the celebration. Don't skip the complimentary photo booth and be sure to stop by the children's color activity station. Spend the day soaking in the rich culture and history of the Choctaw Nation.
The Choctaw Cultural Center opened in 2021 as an immersive experience for visitors to learn about the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. The center features rotating exhibits about the Choctaw's earliest settlements, today's tribal communities in Oklahoma and more.
